Cost Accountant

Cost Accountant Location: Mercer County, NJ Schedule: Hyrbid Salary: Up to $110,000 - Contract - to- Hire About the Opportunity Beacon Hill is partnering with a growing chemical manufacturing company in Mercer County, NJ that is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This position will play a critical role in analyzing manufacturing costs, inventory activity, product profitability, and operational performance. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of cost accounting principles. Responsibilities Maintain and analyze standard costs for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods Prepare and review inventory and manufacturing-related journal entries Perform inventory reconciliations and assist with cycle count and physical inventory processes Analyze manufacturing variances, including labor, material, and overhead costs Monitor product costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities Prepare cost and profitability reports for management Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities Partner with operations, supply chain, and production teams to improve reporting and cost visibility Ensure accuracy of inventory valuation and compliance with company policies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Chemical, pharmaceutical, industrial manufacturing, or process manufacturing experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis Experience supporting month-end close and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Beacon Hill is an equal opportunity employer and individuals with disabilities and/or protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
