Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Directing physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disabilities, alleviating pain, and restoring mobility in patients, in accordance with their individual care plans.
• Leaning on your assessment skills to evaluate a patient's functional capacity through diagnostic testing, guiding personalized treatment interventions.
• Formulating and overseeing rehabilitation programs, collaborating closely with physical therapy assistants to implement the effective delivery of patient care.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' home environments, offering recommendations for modifications to facilitate independence and improve functional outcomes.
• Administering various therapeutic techniques, including manual exercises, traction, and applications of physical agents, while inspiring patients through non-manual assisted exercises.
• Fitting and recommending prosthetic and orthotic devices to support rehabilitation and maximize mobility.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, all while adhering to compliance standards.
• Engaging actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to evaluate treatment plans and refine strategies based on collaborative feedback.
• Educating patients and their families on rehabilitation exercises and care for physical therapy devices to foster independence and involvement in their recovery.
• Providing oversight and mentorship to Physical Therapy Assistants as needed, ensuring the highest quality of care delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your practice will largely focus on orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. With a diverse patient demographic, you will interact with individuals ranging from young athletes to elderly clients, tailoring rehabilitation plans to meet their unique needs and ensuring they receive holistic support throughout their recovery journey.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills, with a focus on orthopedic rehabilitation.
• A creative mindset and the ability to think critically in fast-paced clinical scenarios.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of experience as a Physical Therapist, preferably in acute care or home care settings, is required, experience specifically in orthopedic rehabilitation will be highly advantageous. Compensation and Benefits

Ortho Care Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 – 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
