Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Sparrow Company is searching for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a leading manufacturing company in Santa Teresa, NM. This position is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and minimizing production downtime. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with industrial electrical and mechanical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment to minimize production downtime
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Perform maintenance on compressors, cooling towers, HVAC systems, chillers, thermulators, and material conveying systems
• Troubleshoot electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V
• Respond promptly to maintenance work orders from production personnel
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and process improvements
• Safely work at elevated heights using ladders, boom lifts, and elevated platforms
• Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and preventative maintenance schedules
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure efficient equipment operation
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Experience working with electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V required
• Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), AC and DC drives, stepper motors, and industrial control systems required
• Knowledge of compressors, cooling towers, HVAC equipment, chillers, thermulators, and material conveying systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Ability to safely work at heights using ladders, boom lifts, and elevated platforms
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Experience in a wire and cable manufacturing environment is highly preferred, including equipment such as extruders, rod mills, multi-wire machines, bunchers, and compounders
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Must be willing to work any shift, including day or night 10- or 12-hour shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required
