Accounting Manager

About The Role The Accounting Manager oversees the monthly close process, complex technical accounting transactions, and financial reporting compliance under US GAAP and SOX. This role acts as a primary bridge between day-to-day transaction processing and strategic financial reporting, ensuring all financial statements are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule. This position collaborates across finance, operations, and engineering teams to scale internal accounting systems and design robust controls. The role is critical for maintaining regulatory integrity and preparing the business for scaling milestones, public audits, and SEC-aligned disclosures. Key Responsibilities Manage the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of consolidated financial statements under US GAAP Design and execute key Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls, documenting procedures, assessing risks, and coordinating directly with external auditors Lead complex technical accounting assessments, writing formal position papers on areas such as ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 leases, and capitalized software costs Optimize internal financial tools and ERP systems, partnering with business systems teams to automate manual entries and reconcile ledger discrepancies Prepare comprehensive financial schedules and draft disclosure materials for quarterly board reports and SEC-style filings Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses prepared by senior and staff accountants, providing direct mentorship and technical guidance What We Are Looking For 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a background in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) or at a high-growth technology company Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required Deep technical mastery of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 350) Hands‑on experience working with enterprise ERP systems (such as NetSuite, Workday, or Oracle) and reporting tools (like FloQast or BlackLine) Strong communication skills with a track record of translating complex accounting standards into practical, operational workflows for cross-functional partners Bonus: Experience with tech‑industry business models (SaaS, marketplace, or consumption‑based billing) and SQL or advanced data manipulation skills #J-18808-Ljbffr Evlo AI
