Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist will perform a broad range of daily and monthly responsibilities centered around the specific accounting requirements of the Fintech/Payments Industry. Below is a list of responsibilities: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field is a Plus. 3+ years of accounting experience. Fintech/Payments Industry accounting experience a plus. Proficient in the Microsoft Suite of products including Excel. Proficient in QuickBooks (QBO). Organized and detail oriented with an ability to work independently. Effective written and oral communication skills. Strong reconciliation skills: cash and general ledger. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist creating/managing Luqra ERP tickets (Finance Audit Queue) to resolve funds movement issues and internal/external verification requests including the Cancellation Ticket workflow ticket type. Resolve MRA (TSYS Platform - Maintain Reject Activity) entries including accumulation of entries on the MRA log. Initiate/Post MDE (TSYS Platform – Manual Data Entry) funds movement entries including accumulation of entries on the MDE log. Assist with resolving AR-ACH Reject activity. This includes resolving subject amounts due from merchant customers as needed while monitoring Merchant Divert and Merchant Reserve balances in the event a merchant has a depleted reserve balance. Assist with the preparation for collections or legal action as needed. Assist with the Release of Funds to Merchants in mReports. Ensure subsidiary tracking spreadsheet files are maintained accurately and timely regarding posting activity. Assist with the coding of daily cash activity regarding adjustment posting activity. Manage general ledger accounting and recurring journal entries regarding adjustment transaction entries under area of responsibility. Reconciliation of assigned Balance Sheet Accounts. Complete assigned monthly close responsibilities including assigned GL account reconciliations within the monthly close schedule timeframe. Assist with the communication of Residual Commission adjustments to the Luqra Operations Department and associated reporting and accounting of the deductions regarding applicable transactions under area of responsibility. Assist with the review of daily bank account activity and reconciliation regarding the initiated adjustment transactions under area of responsibility. Assist in monthly & year-end financial/audit compliance reporting. Prepare assigned analysis reports: includes recurring and ad-hoc reporting and analysis, as required. Perform duties in a thoughtful manner to minimize errors. Perform other backup and cross train related duties as assigned. Assist with the development of training modules for bank compliance and PCI rules and regulations related to area of responsibility. Assist with audit including but not limited to: External Financial Audit, SOC Audit, Sponsor Bank Compliance and Card Brand Compliance. Special Projects as assigned. Additional: Continually seek opportunities for improvement. Effectively manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment. Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Complete and accurate monthly reporting to assist in the audit processes. Oversee the accuracy of the financial reporting process.
