About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer to lead its fundraising strategy and ensure the organization's sustainability and growth. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a minimum of 10 years' experience in nonprofit fundraising, including at least 5 years in a leadership role. This role is pivotal in driving the creation of a comprehensive campaign, particularly in light of the organization's 50th anniversary. The Chief Development Officer will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including the cultivation of major gift donors, and will work closely with the President, CEO, and Board of Directors to advance the organization's mission. Essential functions include leading a development team, managing departmental budgets, and fostering a culture of giving. The ideal candidate will have a deep network in the philanthropic community, superior interpersonal skills, and a passion for the mission of the organization. Candidates for the Chief Development Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for an advanced degree in nonprofit management or a related field. Experience in strategic fundraising planning, managing a development team, and a proven track record of securing major gifts are essential. The role requires a leader who is a creative problem solver, culturally competent, and committed to the values of the organization. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and experience in holistic studies, wellness, or mindfulness are desirable. The Chief Development Officer will be expected to embody the company's collaborative and supportive culture, and to work with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure the organization's goals are met.
