RN Scrub Nurse

Position Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN or GN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN or GN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient‑centered care. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Operating Room, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Primary Work Shift: Day Compensation Range: $40.52 – $57.48 per hour, depending on experience You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours. Sign-on Incentives: Experienced candidates may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus of up to $15,000. Education/Experience Minimum Required: A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting License/Certification Minimum Required: Current NYS RN License or Valid NYS Limited Permit to practice as a GN Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty Previous scrub nurse experience Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) Certification Impeccable organization, time management, and critical‑thinking skills Primary responsibilities Assist surgeons during operations and maintain a sterile environment Prepare the instruments, supplies, and the OR for surgical procedures Communicate effectively with all members of the surgical team Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and react quickly to changes during surgery Work Environment 40‑hour work week 10‑hour work days On‑call shifts to provide 24/7 coverage, including weekends and holidays Equal Opportunity Employer United Health Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
