Position Overview

  The Communications & Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and executing S&K Sales' internal and external communication strategies, social media presence, employer brand, and employee engagement initiatives. This position serves as the company's primary resource for creating compelling content that promotes S&K's mission, values, culture, community involvement, business initiatives, and career opportunities across multiple communication channels.

The Communications & Engagement Specialist will manage the company's social media platforms, develop internal communications, support recruiting and employer branding efforts, coordinate community engagement activities, and help strengthen the company's visibility, reputation, and employee experience. Working closely with Human Resources and company leadership, this role ensures consistent messaging that connects employees, customers, business partners, manufacturers, and the communities S&K serves.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Social Media & Brand Management

• Develop and execute the company's social media strategy across approved platforms.
• Create, schedule, and publish engaging content highlighting company initiatives, employee achievements, community involvement, customer partnerships, and career opportunities.
• Monitor social media engagement and recommend strategies to increase brand awareness and audience engagement.
• Maintain a consistent company voice, brand identity, and messaging across all communication channels.
• Capture and share company stories, events, milestones, and successes through digital content.
• Track social media performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Proactively seek, collect, and develop content from employees, departments, field teams, and leadership while creating and maintaining effective channels for sharing stories, accomplishments, events, and other communication opportunities across the organization.

Employee Engagement & Culture

• Develop and distribute company-wide communications, newsletters, announcements, and employee updates.
• Draft and support executive and leadership communications.
• Assist with communicating organizational initiatives, policy updates, and strategic priorities.
• Maintain content on employee communication platforms, Human Resources Information System, SharePoint sites, and digital communication boards.
• Coordinate employee events, employee recognition program, and appreciation initiatives.
• Support onboarding communications and new hire welcome experiences.
• Promote company values and strengthen employee connection to S&K's mission and culture.

Employer Branding & Recruitment Support

• Support recruitment marketing and employer branding efforts.
• Create content that positions S&K as an employer of choice.
• Assist with promoting job opportunities, employee success stories, and career development initiatives.

Community Involvement

• Coordinate and promote volunteer activities, charitable campaigns, and community engagement initiatives through the S&K Cares program.
• Promote employee participation in community service and Volunteer Time Off program.
• Highlight S&K's community impact through storytelling and communication campaigns.

Human Resources Support

• Assist with communication-related aspects of HR programs and initiatives.
• Support benefits communications, wellness programs, open enrollment, and employee education efforts.
• Provide support for special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, employee engagement, public relations, or a related field.
• Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content required.
• Preferred experience creating content for LinkedIn, Facebook, company newsletters, employee communications, presentations, recruiting campaigns, and other internal and external communication channels.

Schedule 

• Monday – Friday
• 8 Hour Shift
• Reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.

  Physical Demands

• Must use sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. 
• Frequent sitting, walking, grasping, fingering, repetitive motion, and reaching. Occasional standing, bending, and crouching. 
• Ability to lift to 20 pounds occasionally.
