Overview:

StaffBuffalo is working with a well-established organization to hire a Credit Lead in Williamsville, NY. This opportunity offers a $70,000–$100,000 base salary, annual cash bonus eligibility, comprehensive benefits, and a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two days remote after initial onboarding.

The ideal candidate brings at least five years of direct professional credit experience, strong analytical and presentation skills, and the confidence to recommend process improvements and automation.

This experienced Credit Lead will serve as the go-to resource for a growing Finance credit team, mentoring newer analysts, setting process standards, and overseeing accuracy and compliance. The role combines credit risk assessment, accounts receivable analysis, financial reporting, and collaboration with Finance leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze monthly utility accounts receivable balances, payments, collections, and related trends; perform control testing and distribute monthly AR analysis reports.
• Analyze monthly bad debt reserves for adequacy and forecast bad debt expense using historical results and current trends.
• Assess quarterly credit risk, security adequacy, and the creditworthiness of issuing financial entities; prepare quarterly management updates and evaluate vendor creditworthiness through financial analysis.
• Oversee credit team accuracy, regulatory and tariff compliance, credit protocols, and the quality of credit securities; obtain, document, store, update, and monitor required securities.
• Manage monthly marketer credit reviews and expiring credit reviews in accordance with tariffs and policies.
• Mentor newer analysts, establish standards, collaborate across Finance, and prepare and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Support annual budgeting, develop credit procedures for acquired utility and storage operations, and partner with Finance leadership on process improvements, automation, and efficiencies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related Business field.
• Minimum of five years of direct professional credit experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, multitasking, and accuracy skills.
• Ability to mentor analysts, work collaboratively across teams, and communicate effectively with colleagues and leadership.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, reporting, and presentation skills, including comfort presenting to senior management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials and SAP preferred.
