Our Organization and Mission The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States. Position Summary This Grants Specialist V position is within the Office of the Attorney General, within the Bureau of Criminal Justice unit in Tallahassee, Florida. Pay $50,428.82 Annually Qualifications Six (6) years of administrative experience in the areas of accounting, banking, accounts receivable, payroll processing, or other related field. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of administrative experience in the areas of accounting, banking, accounts receivable, payroll processing, or other related field. Preference will be given to those with previous grant management experience. Experience with extensive travel outside of the work site and willingness to work extended hours. Work You Will Do Employ strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of relevant statutes, rules, agency policies and procedures, regulations, and the grant agreement to ensure the effective and compliant use of grant funding. Identify and mitigate compliance risks, and may involve managing systems, collaborating with agency staff, and liaising with providers. Produce written reports tracking financial expenditures, verifying project progress against milestones, assessing compliance with grant agreements, preparing performance reports for the agency, and facilitating communication between the agency and providers. Regularly monitor grant expenditures and inventories to ensure funds are used in accordance with the grant agreement. Perform reviews of property, accounting journals, ledgers, or other accounting and operating controls to determine their soundness, adequacy, or application. Monitor program milestones and performance indicators to ensure projects stay on track and achieve intended results. Ensure organization adheres to all grant statutes, rules, and requirements set by the agency. Prepare timely, accurate, and consistent written reports on grant performance and financial status for the agency, providers, and any external stakeholder, reviewing internal controls and recommending corrective action plans. Organize and maintain accurate grant data, using tools and systems to streamline reporting and analysis. Identify potential problems, risks, and areas where technical assistance might be needed for providers. Serve as a point of contact to facilitate transparent and consistent communication between the agency and providers. Perform all other requested duties.
