LPN/LVN Nursing PositionThis position is for a nurse specializing in medical-surgical care. The unit provides a medical surgical and telemetry level of care. There are 34 private beds available for patient care. The unit employs a total of 50 staff members. Day shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 6 RN/LPNs, and 3 techs. Night shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 6 RN/LPNs, and 3 techs. Patient ratios are typically 5-6 patients per nurse. Equipment used on the unit includes telemetry monitors, vein finders, bladder scanners, EKG machines, Dopplers, Hoyer lifts, glucometers, pulse oximeters, scales, and wound vacs. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech. Candidates must have medical surgical experience and BLS certification to be considered for this role. Preference will be given to those with trauma experience and telemetry experience. Specialized aspects of care on the unit include complex wound management, administration of blood products, pain management, and management of tubes and drains such as NG, PEG, feeding tubes, surgical drains, and chest tubes. The ideal candidate is a team player who is compassionate in their approach to patient care.
