Pharmacy Technician (Pharmacy Floor Technician)


Schedule


Primary Shift:

• Monday - Friday: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
• Rotating Weekends (one weekend day each week), all weekend shifts are 9:00am-5:00pm
• Rotating Holidays required
• Overtime as needed

Position Summary


The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacy operations by picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist . The role ensures medications are filled accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations and procedures.


Key Responsibilities

• Prepare prescription orders by verifying information and pulling medications from inventory
• Pick, label, scan, and assemble medications into the correct bins for pharmacist verification
• Accurately fill daily drug orders under pharmacist supervision
• Communicate inventory needs to ensure adequate medication supply
• Assist with inventory maintenance , including removing expired or unused medications
• Process returned medications and recycle/dispose according to procedures
• Prepack frequently ordered medications and store appropriately during low-volume periods
• Pull medications from shelving, racks, and other storage areas
• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks
• Alert the pharmacist if medications do not scan properly
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and replenish stock supplies
• Meet the pharmacy's accuracy and productivity standards
• Follow all local, state, and federal regulations , including HIPAA
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to maintain workflow
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to work at a moderate pace in a production environment
• Active and clear Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License issued by the MA Board of Pharmacy
