We are currently partnering with a well‑established, employee‑owned specialty contractor in the commercial construction industry that is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead regional operations. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing field operations, driving operational excellence, developing high‑performing teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead and oversee daily operations across multiple construction and field service teams. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, improving profitability, and developing high‑performing teams. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong operational management experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven ability to improve processes while maintaining a strong culture of safety. Key Responsibilities Direct, supervise, and coordinate the activities of operational staff, including field personnel and supervisors. Lead day‑to‑day operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. Collaborate with leadership to align operational execution with business goals, customer expectations, and profitability objectives. Evaluate staffing needs, material requirements, subcontractor utilization, and resource allocation to support project demands. Monitor operational performance and implement initiatives that improve productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Review operational reports and identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and prevent project delays. Develop and implement process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness and streamline workflows. Audit operational expenditures and recommend cost‑saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety. Partner with cross‑functional teams and regional offices to drive continuous operational improvements. Lead employee performance management, coaching, development, and succession planning. Provide recommendations regarding hiring, promotions, compensation, and performance evaluations. Ensure consistent administration of company policies while fostering positive employee relations. Support training, compliance, housekeeping, and operational best practices across all teams. Participate in job evaluations and provide job analysis documentation when required. Promote and maintain a strong culture of workplace safety, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety standards and company policies. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered. 7+ years of progressive operations leadership experience within construction, specialty contracting, industrial services, or a related industry. Demonstrated experience managing multiple field operations, project teams, and operational resources. Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing budgets, operational costs, and profitability. Proven leadership experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing high‑performing teams. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify operational improvements. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between regional operations as needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading operations across multiple locations or regions. Background in specialty contracting, commercial construction, industrial services, or similar industries. Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
