Pre-Employment Transition Services InstructorAt Bobby Dodd Institute, we believe in an inclusive world where people of differing abilities can lead more independent and purposeful lives when provided the right guidance, support and opportunities.JOB SUMMARYThe Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Instructor is responsible for teaching and implementing the Pre-ETS curriculum to students aged 14-21 years old within school settings. This role also includes assisting with Summer, Fall, and Spring GROW program activities, providing and delivering workplace readiness training to students. This is an in-person position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops Program Guide: Create a comprehensive guide, timeline of services, and project plan for the Pre-ETS program.Service Delivery: Oversee the delivery of services for students in the Pre-ETS program from referral to exit.Curriculum Instruction: Teach pre-vocational skills curriculum (Job Exploration Counseling, Work Based Learning, Workplace Readiness Training, Counseling on Postsecondary and Self-Advocacy).Coordination: Meet with referral sources, schools, and parent advisory groups to plan and implement the program.Lesson Planning: Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the needs of the students.Scheduling: Arrange class times with identified schools and conduct initial site visits.Classroom Management: Supervise and teach classes in schools, ensuring an effective learning environment.Team Coordination: Work with the Manager of Youth Services to schedule additional team members to assist with teaching and supervising participants.Reporting: Develop and complete weekly and monthly status reports for participants.Performance Tracking: Track and collect performance metrics and outcomes to evaluate program effectiveness.This may not constitute an entire list of dutiesREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree in special education, rehabilitation, sociology, behavioral sciences, business administration, or a related field.2 years' experience in vocational rehabilitation or a teaching role.Experience teaching or delivering career/work readiness to individuals with disabilities.PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelors or better in Social Work.SKILLS AND ABILITIES COMPETENCIESHigh customer service orientation and youth-focused.Excellent engagement and presentation skills.Results-oriented with the ability to meet assigned deadlines.Highly organized and accurate in completing work assignments.Creative, with the ability to effectively engage youth and build rapport.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality with assigned duties.Proficient in using Windows environment applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.General knowledge of other office equipment such as copiers, scanners, fax machines, etc.Must pass a drug screen and background check.TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USEDGeneral office equipmentPHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to stand or sit for long periods of timeSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYNoneTRAVELBetween multiple school locations within the community.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
