Job Title: Epic Web and Service Server Engineer Work Location: Remote Duration: 3 month contract with option to extend Education/Experience Required: Current Epic ECSA certification Job Description : The Epic Web and Service Server Engineer will contribute to developing and applying their technical expertise on the Epic technical team that supports Epic technical infrastructure. This includes technologies, systems, networks, data architectures, capacity planning, system performance, and configuration management. Jobs in this family are responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, installing, and/or deploying Epic technologies. In addition, they are responsible for the establishment, development, and promotion of Epic architecture, as well as hardware and software components. This role provides consulting services to the Epic application development teams and/or customers regarding technologies and the application of Epic technology standards Responsibilities : Administrative: Complete time management, status reports and task updates as required by management. Policies/Procedures: Adheres to IS Processes and follows the Health Care System Policies and Procedures. Project Management: Operate effectively as part of a larger team and managing their own work. Prioritizes work to meet project timelines and present deliverables in a timely manner. Customer Service/Collaboration: Gain an understanding of customer requirements and their impact on the direction of a solution. Develop a working understanding of the areas of IT and the products and services. Form productive relationships with internal customers by listening, clarifying, and responding effectively. Respond to user problems, and present deliverables in a timely manner. Be able to work effectively with Information Services colleagues. Shares knowledge effectively within the work team. Development/Support: The Epic Web/Service Server Engineer installs, manages, and configures the Epic application deployment platforms that serve production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Installing and maintaining the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high levels of availability and performance of your Epic system, applying platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non-production Web server components, assisting in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third-party software and peripherals. Follows vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration. Responsible for creating and updating documentation and maintaining current system details in a centralized knowledge base. Collaborating with technical teams and Epic to ensure proactive support. Maintaining knowledge and testing processes for supporting outstanding issues and tasks such as supporting Business Continuity, retooling emerging technologies, capacity planning, and other Epic application maintenance requirements. Skills & Qualifications : Required Skills & Experience: Three (3) years of direct Epic ECSA experience. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in information technology with progressive responsibilities. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Three (3) years of progressive responsibilities/experience in one or a combination of the following areas: Web Services, Server Administrator, Systems Engineer, Network Administration. -Understanding of operating system concepts such as user and group ownership and file permissions, file system/volume group configuration, etc. Knowledge of PowerShell Ability to create, understand, and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance. -Able to exercise independent judgment and take action. Highly self-motivated and directed. Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills. Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. -Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure. Strong customer service orientation. Familiar with HIPAA and other regulations that impact hospitals and clinics.
