Salary: $85,800 - 115,416 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field, plus 4 years of relevant professional IT network and telecommunications experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• We require experience supporting network and communications infrastructure and cloud infrastructure within a medium or large organization.
• We require experience preparing detailed technical documentation and procedures.
• We expect clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts, system changes, and troubleshooting steps.
• We expect sound judgment when determining escalation paths and recommending solutions.
• We expect effective collaboration with teammates, vendors, and other departments to resolve technical issues.

• We require the ability to work from our Olympia, WA duty station with hybrid telework as approved, and to travel occasionally.
• Preferred qualifications include familiarity with IT industry standards and best practices, and experience with certifications or platforms such as CCNA, CCNP, CCENT/CCT, CCDP, CCDE, CCIE, A+, Security+, Network+, Cisco, HPE, Aruba, Palo Alto, SolarWinds Orion tools, and Agile/Scrum.

• We support, configure, maintain, and upgrade local and wide area network environments.
• We coordinate and negotiate WAN circuit upgrades, downgrades, and migrations based on business needs.
• We configure and operate PIM and IGMP to support Radio over IP services.
• We manage multiple dynamic routing protocols.
• We work independently and with internal teams or vendors to document, implement, and maintain network infrastructure.
• We assist with security solutions aligned with enterprise network best practices.
• We serve as a technical resource for our next-generation firewall environment.
• We monitor, analyze, and evaluate unusual network and system activity and carry out remediation recommendations.
• We process firewall policy changes driven by agency requirements.
• We maintain thorough documentation for the firewall environment.
• We serve as a technical resource for our wireless local area network environment.
• We purchase, license, configure, and deploy wireless access points.
• We assist with upgrades and future replacement of the wireless environment.
• We help guide the direction and development of our local and wide area networks.
• We consult with internal customers and project teams on networking needs and evaluate new technologies and methods with IT and agency partners.
