Description

American Traveler is hiring a Certified Hand Therapist (OT or PT) for an inpatient rehab hand therapy position requiring 2+ years of hand therapy experience and expertise in complex hand trauma and custom splinting.

Details

• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• Split schedule with 3 days at one clinic location and 2 days at a second nearby clinic location
• Adult outpatient and hand clinic work setting
• No floating required within this specific role, though candidates may float to affiliate hospitals nearby per unit
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Current OT or PT license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of hand therapy experience required
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification required
• BLS certification required (AHA Traditional accepted, RQI not accepted)
• Expertise in custom splinting required
• Expertise in complex hand trauma and surgeries required
• Experience with functional splints, orthoplast, and static splints
• Skills in electrical stimulation, paraffin bath, splinting, and ultrasound modalities
• Experience treating hand injury, nerve injury, tendon repair, reattachment, and upper/lower extremity orthopedic cases
• Experience with evaluation, assessment, discharge planning, and reassessments
• Patient/family education skills required
• No new graduates will be considered

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Provide comprehensive hand therapy services including custom splinting and treatment for complex hand trauma and surgical cases
• Perform evaluations, assessments, plan of care development, and discharge planning
• Utilize adaptive equipment assessment tools for adult patients
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Returning staff must have a 6+ month gap since their last assignment to be eligible
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
