Program Support Specialist

Program Support Specialist – CPRIT Peer Review Support GDIT manages the peer review of applications submitted to the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). The Program Support Specialist will assist in the scientific peer review process at various stages: application receipt and processing, compliance checks, reviewer support, peer review meeting support, and preparation of pre‑ and post‑review documents and deliverables. Responsibilities Provide Help Desk support for the CPRIT programs (Product Development, Prevention, Research), responding to e‑mail and telephone inquiries, guiding the applicant and grantee community through online processes, and preparing weekly/monthly Help Desk reports. Support peer review meetings: gather and format reviewer materials, assist with meeting registration, organize and disseminate materials before, during, and after meetings, interface with reviewers, and provide technical support for virtual meetings. Perform administrative review of applications to ensure compliance with guidelines. Participate in program set‑up, including Quality Control, template creation, and preparation of pre‑ and post‑review deliverables (requests for applications, summary statements, score reports), including QC. Provide administrative support for processing and tracking post‑award evaluations and progress reports. Contribute as part of the team to improve and execute a repeatable, scalable, process‑driven infrastructure. Complete ad hoc administrative tasks as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (any major) and 0+ years of related experience. Written and oral communication: represent the client on phone/email, professional tone, correct grammar and spelling, calm and empathetic persona. Interpersonal: flexible, adaptable, supportive of team members, instill trust. Organizational: follow directions, work independently, multitask efficiently, attention to detail. Technical: proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat. Desired Skills For recent college graduates: GPA ≥ 3.3 while working at least 15 hours/week during the school year. Compensation Hourly rate: $21.25 – $28.75 (salary set based on experience and location).
