Senior SAP Functional Consultant - SAP IS-U Billing & Invoicing

Location: Tampa, FL



Work Arrangement: Hybrid Onsite 4 days per week, 1 day remote



Employment Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Candidate Location: Local candidates preferred. Non-local candidates will be considered if they are willing to relocate or travel regularly and work the required onsite schedule.

The Senior SAP Functional Consultant will be responsible for all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) related to SAP configuration activities. This role requires deep functional expertise in SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing, with a strong understanding of the meter-to-cash lifecycle within the electric and gas utility industries. The consultant will implement software solutions requiring advanced configuration and integration, collaborate closely with vendor resources, and integrate applications with complex interfaces based on provided specifications. The ideal candidate will bring strong functional and solution design experience, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to deliver solutions aligned with digital transformation initiatives.

• Implement software solutions requiring in-depth SAP configuration and integration.

• Drive substantial interaction with vendor resources and integrate applications through complex interfaces based on provided specifications.

• Demonstrate hands-on experience in SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing , with deep functional expertise across the meter-to-cash lifecycle in the electric and gas utility industry.

• Configure and customize billing master data, including billing schemas, rate modeling, complex billing, and regulated and deregulated tariff models.

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of end-to-end billing and invoicing processes, including:

  • Budget billing

  • Real-Time Pricing (RTP) billing

  • Time-of-Use (TOU) billing

  • Mass batch jobs

  • Exception management

  • Bill simulation

  • Unbilled revenue scenarios

  • Collective billing

• Maintain working knowledge of SAP IS-U Bill Print, including Print Workbench configuration and integration with Smart Forms and Adobe Forms.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support integration with Device Management and Financial Contract Accounting (FICA).

• Apply extensive functional and solution expertise to facilitate, design, and develop complex solutions aligned with digital transformation initiatives.

• Serve as a functional liaison between business and IT teams.

• Guide stakeholders on SAP best practices and functional solution design.

• 5+ years of experience working with SAP IS-U.

• 4+ years of experience working with SAP products.

• Hands-on experience in SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing.

• Strong functional expertise in utility billing processes across electricity and gas.

• Experience with billing configuration, rate modeling, tariff structures, and meter-to-cash processes.

• Knowledge of SAP IS-U Bill Print, Print Workbench, Smart Forms, and Adobe Forms.

• Experience integrating SAP IS-U with Device Management and FICA.

• Strong client-facing, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
