Senior Accountant / Project Accountant

Location: Austin, TX 78754

W ork Arrangement: On-Site

Salary: $75,000-$110,000 + discretionary bonus

A growing, private-equity-backed fire and life safety company is seeking a Senior Accountant / Project Accountant to join its Austin accounting team. This is a hands-on opportunity to join a growing organization that is actively acquiring and integrating businesses and building out its accounting infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a doer who enjoys working independently, digging into the numbers, and improving processes.

Responsibilities:

• Own key aspects of the monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Perform job costing, WIP reporting, and project accounting
• Handle percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and AIA billing
• Analyze project margins and investigate variances
• Support AR/AP, billing, and collections
• Prepare financial reports and account reconciliations
• Assist with audits and financial reporting
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes
• Support the transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite
• Assist with acquisition integration and accounting process improvements

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong U.S. GAAP and month-end close experience
• Strong journal entry and balance sheet reconciliation skills
• Construction/project accounting experience - required
• WIP, percentage-of-completion, job costing, and AIA billing experience - required
• Advanced Excel skills
• Self-motivated, analytical, and comfortable working independently

Preferred:

• Public accounting/audit experience
• NetSuite experience
• QuickBooks experience
• CPA or CPA candidate
• ERP implementation or acquisition integration experience
