HVAC Preventive Maintenance Mechanic

Position Type: Property Management/ HVAC Preventive Maint Mechanic Date Posted: 6/8/2026 Location: Education Service Center Closing Date: 06/22/2026 HVAC Preventive Maintenance Mechanic Position Purpose Perform preventive maintenance functions for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems per equipment operations and maintenance manuals district-wide. Assist heating, ventilation and maintenance technicians as requested and/or approval by Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning/ Automation Control Foreman or System Manager. Perform preventive and general maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, and vacuuming equipment, greasing or oiling parts, changing filters and belts and clean coils Visually inspect all interior and exterior duct work for structural integrity and cleanliness Inspect and test system to verify system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions. Adjust system controls to setting recommended by manufacturer to balance system Maintain and operate heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment including boilers, chillers, air conditioning units, pneumatic/direct digital controls under guidance from a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician or the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning/Automation Control Maintenance Foreman Record and report all faults, deficiencies and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders. Insure that repairs requiring additional technical expertise are reported to the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning/Automation Control Maintenance Foreman Perform minor electrical and plumbing repair, including fuse replacement, switch replacement, pipe fitting, valve replacement, soldering and brazing Support heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technicians by responding to minor temperature control issues throughout the district Participate in departmental on-call emergency response rotation schedule Snow removal Education/Certifications Two years High School, vocational school or equivalent on-the-job training and experience Must maintain valid Colorado driver's license and meet District auto insurability requirement District asbestos training certification within 6 weeks after hire Criminal background check required for hire Experience One year of experience in HVAC maintenance Salary Information Salary range $26.51 - $30.23 per hour. Direct experience will be taken into consideration for the starting salary.
