Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment implementation, medication administration, patient education, documentation, and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. This nurse serves as a patient advocate while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compassionate care. The role also provides opportunities for leadership through precepting, charge nurse responsibilities, and participation in unit-based initiatives. Emergency Department Highlights High-volume Emergency Department Level II Trauma Center Approximately 48 treatment beds Average daily census exceeding 200 patients Fast-paced, high-acuity environment Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 Qualifications Required Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program Required Experience Minimum one year of RN experience in a healthcare setting Prior Emergency Department experience strongly required Experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity ED environment highly preferred Required Licensure & Certifications Active RN license (or Compact License eligible for state licensure) BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) PALS (within 4 months of hire if not already obtained) NIH Stroke Certification (within 4 months of hire) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification (within 4 months of hire) Preferred Qualifications BSN strongly preferred Magnet facility experience preferred TNCC ENPC Additional emergency nursing certifications Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a confident Emergency Department nurse who can effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding clinical environment.
