Database Administrator

Job Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Database Administrator in Tampa, Florida. The role involves the management and optimization of Oracle and MS SQL databases in a 24x7x365 environment, providing technical guidance to engineering teams, and maintaining the efficiency and scalability of the database system. Responsibilities Provide technical direction on query optimization and best practices to various departments. Enhance the operational efficiencies of database schema, SQL queries, backup and recovery procedures, and disaster recovery processes. Oversee data retention and storage management. Monitor the core production system services for proper disk and CPU utilization, ensuring the seamless operation of internal applications. Research new products and upgrades to maximize the efficiency and scalability of the database system. Document and improve existing departmental procedures, policies, and workflows. Manage security related aspects of the Oracle databases following contemporary industry best practices. Maintain development, test, and UAT database systems and provide data maintenance services and refresh as required. Document database design, integration processes, and disaster recovery processes. Perform tuning and optimization as required. Qualifications Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role with a minimum of 5 years in the field. Proficient in the use of Database tools and software. Familiarity with EO/IR systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft SQL Server. Knowledge of Backup Technologies. Proficient in Cluster Analysis. Experience in Configuration Management and Database Administration. Familiarity with Design Controls. Proficiency in Oracle DB. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication and collaboration abilities.
