Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Adult Day Program

Pay: $18.50/hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

About Us
Hope House is a licensed Virginia provider of Developmental Disability (DD) Waiver services. We run a community-based day program for adults with developmental disabilities. We help each person build skills, connect with their community, and live a fuller, more independent life. We are a small, growing team. Your work here is noticed, and there is room to grow with us.

The Role
As a DSP, you will work directly with adults in our Group Day Support program, both at our site and out in the community. You will follow each person's individual plan for supports and help them work toward their own goals.

What You'll Do

• Support individuals in building daily living, communication, social, and problem-solving skills
• Plan and lead group and community activities, such as outings, volunteering, recreation, and classes
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities as needed, with dignity and respect
• Support individuals' health and safety throughout the day
• Use positive behavior support strategies and person-centered practices
• Safely drive and transport individuals to and from community locations
• Write accurate daily progress notes and attendance records
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, families, and support coordinators
• Follow all Hope House policies, confidentiality rules, and Virginia DBHDS/DMAS regulations

What We're Looking For

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and ability to transport individuals safely
• Reliable, patient, and dependable, with a genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities
• Clear written and spoken English for documentation and communication
• Physically able to stay active throughout the day and assist individuals as needed
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred but not required
