Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity in a manufacturing environment in Manati, PR. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong analytical skills, experience supporting month-end close activities, and the ability to work across financial systems with accuracy and independence.

The Accounting Specialist will support key financial operations, including reconciliations, inventory analysis, cost of manufacturing review, audit documentation, and process improvement initiatives. This opportunity offers exposure to cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Finance, creating a collaborative environment where strong performers can build valuable industry experience and contribute to operational success.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform month-end closing activities and complete account reconciliations across multiple financial systems.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between SAP and other platforms to support accurate financial reporting.
- Support inventory control, cycle counts, and cost of manufacturing analysis.
- Manage assigned financial areas such as freight, metals accounting, taxes, SURI, and investments.
- Prepare financial analysis and present findings to operations and business teams.
- Support internal and external audits by gathering and providing required financial documentation.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $14.00 to $15.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Job type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Location: Manati, PR.

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience is preferred based on role level.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience working with SAP and other financial systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
