Director of Operations

The Director of Orthopedic Operations is a strategic partner to physician and operational leaders, driving the success of Duly Health and Care's orthopedic service line. In this role, you'll collaborate across multiple practice locations to improve operations, support continued growth, and enhance the patient experience through strong partnerships, data-driven decision making, and operational excellence. Director of Operations - Orthopedics Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday; Hours will vary. Location: Westmont/Downers Grove; Will require travel in between Duly locations on a regular basis. KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

Strategic & Operational Leadership Provide operational leadership for multiple orthopedic practice locations, ensuring consistent execution of organizational priorities and service line initiatives. Partner with physician leaders and executive leadership to develop and execute strategic plans that support growth, operational excellence, and exceptional patient care. Lead operational initiatives that improve access, efficiency, quality, patient satisfaction, and financial performance. Identify opportunities to expand orthopedic services, improve workflows, and enhance the overall patient experience. Serve as a change leader, successfully implementing new programs, technologies, and operational improvements across the orthopedic service line. Physician & Practice Partnership Build strong relationships with orthopedic physicians and physician leaders to support operational success and strategic growth. Collaborate with physicians and practice leadership to address operational challenges, improve performance, and align on shared goals. Foster physician engagement by promoting collaboration, transparency, and effective communication. Support physician onboarding, practice integration, and ongoing operational needs. Financial & Performance Management Monitor operational, quality, access, and financial performance across assigned practices. Utilize data and key performance indicators to identify trends, establish priorities, and develop action plans that improve outcomes. Partner with practice leaders to ensure responsible management of staffing, budgets, equipment, and operational resources. Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency while maintaining exceptional patient care. Leadership & Team Development Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop practice managers and operational leaders. Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, continuous improvement, and collaboration. Establish performance expectations and provide regular coaching and feedback to support professional growth. Promote cross-functional teamwork across clinical, operational, and administrative departments. Quality, Compliance & Patient Experience Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and healthcare regulations. Partner with quality, compliance, and clinical leaders to maintain safe, efficient operations. Champion initiatives that improve patient access, quality outcomes, and the overall patient experience.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field (equivalent healthcare leadership experience may be considered). Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Nursing, or a related field is a plus. 5+ years of progressive healthcare operations leadership experience. Experience leading orthopedic or musculoskeletal service lines highly preferred. Experience leading multiple outpatient physician practice locations or service lines. Demonstrated success partnering with physicians and operational leaders to improve performance and patient outcomes. Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, workforce planning, and operational analytics. Proven experience leading organizational change and process improvement initiatives.
