Accounts Payable Supervisor

Soni is partnered with a client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department. This individual will oversee a team responsible for invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations, and month-end activities while ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who can drive process improvements, develop team members, and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast‑paced environment. Responsibilities: Supervise, mentor, and develop the Accounts Payable team while managing daily workflow and performance. Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, payment processing, and vendor account maintenance. Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments. Resolve escalated vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies while maintaining positive vendor relationships. Review account reconciliations, aging reports, and outstanding balances to ensure accuracy. Coordinate month‑end and year‑end close activities related to Accounts Payable. Oversee annual 1099 reporting and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations. Develop, document, and improve Accounts Payable policies, procedures, and internal controls. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance departmental performance. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide reporting to accounting leadership. Partner with internal departments to ensure timely approvals and effective communication across the organization. Assist with audits, special projects, system implementations, and other accounting initiatives as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred. 3+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including 1–2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role. Strong knowledge of full-cycle Accounts Payable processes, month‑end close, and 1099 reporting. Experience in a high‑volume Accounts Payable or shared services environment is preferred. Proficiency with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar accounting software. Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop team members. Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
