Job Description

The Production/Quality Lead supports daily manufacturing operations while helping ensure products meet production, quality, and customer requirements. This role provides hands-on leadership to production associates, assists with training and development, and troubleshoots production issues. The Lead also performs quality inspections, supports corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives, and helps prepare the operation for new product introductions.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities, troubleshoot issues, and provide guidance to production associates.
• Train and mentor associates, complete required training documentation, and identify cross-training opportunities.
• Communicate customer specifications, packaging standards, and quality requirements to production management.
• Perform first-article and other required inspections; identify, contain, and support the disposition of nonconforming materials.
• Support corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, prototype development, new product introductions, and production work as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous manufacturing or machine-operating experience.
• One to two years of experience as a lead or in a developmental leadership role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read a ruler accurately to 1/16 inch, perform basic calculations involving fractions and linear or square footage, and read and understand blueprints.
• Effective communication skills and basic quality assurance knowledge.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• ERP/MRP experience.
• Experience training, mentoring, or cross-training manufacturing employees.
• Familiarity with first-article inspections, corrective actions, and nonconforming material processes.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
• Regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, with or without material-handling equipment.
• Use hands to grasp and operate tools, machinery, and production equipment.
• Work around noise, dust, temperature variations, moving equipment, and required personal protective equipment.

The base pay range for this position is $20.00–$24.00 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Final compensation will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
