Location: San Jose, CA (Support for Two Retail Locations)

Employment Type: Part-Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and organized Human Resources Specialist to join our team and provide comprehensive HR support for our two San Jose retail locations. This position plays a vital role in supporting employees and management through recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, compliance, and HR administration.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, or a related field, or 2–3 years of professional Human Resources experience. This position requires flexibility to work at both retail locations as business needs require.

Essential Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Specialist will:

• Support all day-to-day Human Resources functions for multiple retail locations.
• Travel between both San Jose store locations as needed.
• Coordinate recruiting efforts by posting job openings, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, participating in hiring events, and assisting with candidate selection.
• Conduct new hire onboarding, orientation, and ensure completion of all employment documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
• Assist managers with employee relations matters, investigations, coaching, corrective actions, and performance documentation.
• Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, leaves of absence, workers' compensation, and company procedures.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Deliver employee training on HR policies, procedures, workplace expectations, and compliance topics.
• Partner with store leadership, payroll, and other departments to support staffing and operational needs.
• Maintain recruiting pipelines and utilize various recruiting tools and community outreach efforts to attract qualified candidates.
• Conduct exit interviews and assist with employee separation processes.
• Support multiple retail locations and perform additional HR-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field; or
• 2–3 years of Human Resources experience in a retail, customer service, or similar fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while working in a retail environment.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb as necessary.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.

Schedule Requirements

• Prt-Full-time position.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Must be willing to work at either of our San Jose retail locations.
