As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Reception Access Operations in Washington, DC , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.15 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities.
• Staff a front desk location, greet and direct visitors, maintain a professional presence, and support access control procedures for campus buildings.
• Monitor visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and document entries, incidents, and other security-related information in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel when needed.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly front desk environment and help to deter unauthorized access through attentive observation and adherence to established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least two years of security-related experience.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
