Scientific Director, Precision Medicine - Immunology

Scientific Director, Precision Medicine – Immunology role at AbbVie in Waltham, MA. The position involves developing precision medicine and biomarker strategies for autoimmune disease therapies, collaborating across functions to advance novel assets, and providing scientific leadership and expertise mentorship.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute precision medicine strategy aligned with functional goals and scientific objectives
Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate scientific initiatives supporting novel asset development in autoimmune disease
Mentor colleagues and assess emerging business challenges to enable functional achievement
Design major project plans with early risk assessment and implement fallback strategies
Present scientific concepts and findings to internal leadership, partners, and external opinion leaders

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in science with 18+ years related experience, or Master's/PharmD with 16+ years, or MD/PhD with 10+ years
Experience in clinical research and development environments
Proven history of supporting product launches and scientific narrative development
Experience in gastroenterology research, clinical development, or clinical trial execution
Ability to influence and collaborate across diverse scientific disciplines and internal/external teams
Medical or clinical imaging experience preferred
