Are you an organized project coordinator who enjoys bringing together community partners, managing logistics, and keeping multiple moving pieces on track? Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking a Food Recovery Project Coordinator to support a pilot program connecting surplus nutritious food from local grocery donors with food assistance agencies throughout the Seattle area.

What You'll Be Doing Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of the pilot, including participating agency support, donor relationships, transportation, logistics, and stakeholder communication Build the project plan, tracker, and communication strategy at the start of the assignment and share them with the project lead Confirm that participating agencies still have the capacity to take part, and send and track MOUs outlining each agency's role in the pilot Maintain relationships with grocery store donors and food bank contacts, and follow up when agreed pickup processes aren't being followed Schedule weekly food recovery pickups and deliveries, and brief drivers on locations, expectations, and points of contact at each store and food bank Track pickups, deliveries, donors, participating agencies, transportation needs, and other pilot outcomes Coordinate stakeholder check-ins, troubleshoot operational challenges, and deliver mid-project and final presentations, along with a final report covering outcomes, lessons learned, and a roadmap for scaling the program, including how many additional agencies could be added and which ones

What We're Looking For Experience coordinating projects, programs, logistics, food systems initiatives, community-based programs, or related work. Food recovery or food banking experience is a plus but not required Highly organized, with strong project management skills and the ability to build your own plans and tracking tools for a project where details are still taking shape Experience managing relationships with a range of stakeholders, such as executive directors, volunteers, and community partners, with strong emotional intelligence, persistence, and an outgoing, relationship-building style that goes beyond email Strong note-taking, data tracking, and written reporting skills, with the ability to present updates and findings clearly Proficiency with Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Word Ability to work independently and collaboratively while adapting to changing schedules, transportation needs, and other operational challenges

Additional Details Location: Seattle, WA - Hybrid role Schedule: Approximately 25–30 hours per week Assignment: Temporary Contract through December 2026 Pay Rate: $32–$35 per hour DOE
