Three Rivers Treatment Center is seeking a Community Manager to join our residential services team. The Community Manager plays a critical leadership role in creating a safe, structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment for youth receiving residential treatment.

This position is ideal for someone who can balance compassion with accountability, remain calm during challenging situations, and lead a team with professionalism and emotional intelligence.

What You'll Do

As a Community Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of an assigned residential community while providing direct leadership and support to Skills Coaches (Behavioral Health Technicians).

Your responsibilities will include:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of an assigned residential community/unit.

Provide leadership, coaching, guidance, and real-time feedback to Skills Coaches.

Directly supervise staff and address performance and conduct concerns.

Promote a safe, structured, trauma-informed, and therapeutic environment.

Conduct regular safety and quality-control checks.

Monitor resident behavior, safety, and changes in acuity and communicate concerns to the clinical team.

Guide staff in appropriate therapeutic interventions, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques.

Monitor the appropriate use of behavioral management and physical intervention procedures.

Ensure required documentation is accurate, complete, and timely.

Assign staff caseloads and oversee resident room assignments.

Prepare and communicate community/milieu reports that support treatment planning.

Oversee the resident jobs program and monitor participation and progress.

Participate in resident admissions, discharges, and multidisciplinary treatment planning.

Identify staff training needs and recommend additional training when appropriate.

Submit and follow up on maintenance and facility work orders, prioritizing safety-related needs.

Collaborate with clinical, medical, education, and residential departments.

Ensure community operations are consistent with Three Rivers Treatment Center policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a leader who is calm under pressure, dependable, compassionate, accountable, and able to build positive relationships with both staff and youth.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Health, or a related field preferred.

At least one year of experience working with youth with psychiatric and/or behavioral diagnoses in an acute or residential treatment setting.

At least one year of experience in behavioral health or residential treatment preferred.

Experience with crisis intervention, behavioral management, and de-escalation strategies.

Experience providing staff supervision or leadership preferred.

Knowledge of trauma-informed care and therapeutic interventions.

Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Must be at least 19 years of age, consistent with applicable Commonwealth of Virginia requirements for children's residential facilities.

Required Certifications

Current CPR certification.

Current First Aid certification.

Valid driver's license in good standing.

Completion of the facility-approved Behavioral Management Program Instructor training within six months of hire or as soon as the next available course is offered.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on leadership position working directly with youth, residential staff, and multidisciplinary teams. The position includes a combination of administrative responsibilities and direct supervision and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
