Research Associate - Rehabilitation Engineering Design Laboratory

Position Summary The Rehabilitation Engineering Design Laboratory and Assistive Technology Center at OSU are seeking a dedicated and innovative Computer Science/Computer Engineering graduate to join the team for an exciting project. The selected candidate will develop a mobile application to track wheelchair usage behavior. This project offers a unique opportunity to delve into the world of mobile application development, deep learning frameworks and apply them in a real-world context. The goal is to detect and analyze wheelchair usage patterns, with the potential to significantly enhance the quality of life for wheelchair users. This is a full-time position based in Columbus, Ohio, with an initial one-year appointment and the possibility of extension based on performance and funding. Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree in computer science/engineering, health sciences, or other medical field, or equivalent experience required. At least one year of experience working in a research setting and collaborating with an interdisciplinary group of practitioners. Industry or clinical experience preferred. Requires excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Must be able to take direction and appropriate action in a stressful environment. Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
