Work Environment\n

This position is entirely remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining access to a strong support team. Your primary work hours will be Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, ensuring a structured yet adaptable schedule. In this environment, you will leverage technology and telehealth tools to conduct virtual counseling sessions efficiently, ensuring client engagement and comfort from their own homes.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments and implement appropriate interventions for individuals in acute mental health crises.

• Provide immediate counseling and emotional support to clients experiencing distress related to addiction, trauma, or emotional upheaval.

• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders to ensure the safety of clients requiring urgent care.

• Develop and execute follow-up plans to maintain ongoing support and recommend suitable resources and options for clients post-crisis.

• Employ evidence-based crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques to handle high-tension situations effectively.

• Engage in continuous professional development to enhance your skills in crisis counseling and trauma-informed approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on counseling seniors who are addressing addiction challenges, coping with significant life changes, or dealing with the emotional fallout of loss. Understanding the unique perspectives and emotional needs of this demographic is vital as they often encounter issues of isolation, stigmatization related to addiction, and the emotional complexities of aging.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution or university.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in New York.

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience providing direct crisis intervention and mental health counseling services.

• Specialized training in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care is highly valued.

• Demonstrated experience working with individuals in immediate mental health crises, specifically in telehealth settings.

Compensation and Benefits\n
