Maintenance WorkerThis Maintenance Worker position is a highly versatile repair and maintenance position. This position helps to maintain administrative offices, residential homes, day programs and camp facilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. An ideal candidate has at least 1 years of experience in 3+ skilled training areas, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and roofing.Position: Full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt. Typical hours are from 8am – 4pm. Some flexibility is required, including scheduled rotating on-call, weekends and evenings. Locations available throughout Gloucester County. This position operates in an indoor and/or outside fieldwork setting. This position is supervised by the Facilities Manager.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintains work sites in compliance with OSHA requirementsFollows established safety regulations, policies & proceduresConducts and performs tasks including painting, structural repairs to masonry, woodwork and furnishing of buildings, plumbing and electricalPerforms ground maintenance activities, including mowing, trimming, weeding, raking, disposal of leaves and debrisPerforms snow removal activities, including shoveling, plowing, salt, sand, etcAssists with implementing a preventive maintenance scheduleAbility to adjust to work procedures and work schedules to meet production schedules, including availability for special events as assignedWorks along with other facility/maintenance workers, internally and external contractors to coordinate activities and ensure timely completion of tasksPrimary department, work location and schedule may vary.Maintain confidentialityComply with the DDD Program Manual, The Arc Gloucester Policies and Procedures Manual and applicable state, local and federal regulations, including any COVID-19 vaccination mandates & policiesMust cooperate and participate in reviews, investigations, and inspections, including but not limited to DHS Licensing and DHS staff.Occasional management responsibilities, including assisting with trainings, planning, workflow, and problem solvingComplete and maintain required trainingAdditional responsibilities as requiredQualifications:Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (preferred)Must be 18 years of age or olderA Minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training in at least 3 skilled trades, including Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC and RoofingKnowledge or experience with supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferredMust have a current, non-probationary driver's license with 5 points or less, and deemed acceptable to drive by The Arc Gloucester's liability insurance companySuccessfully pass initial and ongoing State/Federal Criminal Background checks, including but not limited to Fingerprinting, CARI checks, Central Registry checks, MVR and drug screensMust be able to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, leadership, families, State and Federal agencies, and most importantly the individuals we servePhysical RequirementsWhile performing the essential functions of this position, the following are required, with or without reasonable accommodation:Ability to stand, sit, drive, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk to hear, and taste or smell for extended periods of timeAbility to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and armsAbility to operate a computers, phone and other relevant technologyPhysical duties, including but not limited to carrying, driving, general lifting (at least 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs.), assisting with transferring and lifting, pushing and pulling (resistance of at least 25 lbs.), bending, twisting, squatting, cleaning, and climbing stairs
