Mechanical Technician – Vehicle Engineering Location: Phoenix, AZ Exponent’s Vehicle Engineering Practice provides a wide range of vehicle evaluation and testing services. The Test & Engineering Center (TEC) in Phoenix is a highly capable test facility that conducts full‑scale vehicle testing, mechanical and electronic component testing, and battery testing. Responsibilities Prepare vehicles and products for testing. Assist with test execution. Receive vehicles and other products, perform visual inspection and documentation. Photograph test vehicles and products received. Maintain laboratory equipment and tools. Repair and maintain company vehicles. Conduct tests using mechanical and hydraulic systems. Participate in keeping the facility clean. Perform various maintenance‑related tasks in a lab environment. Skills and Qualifications Applied mechanical skills with 3–5 years of experience. Strong machining, fabrication, welding, and troubleshooting skills. ASE certifications or a degree in automotive technology is a plus. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, automotive systems, and hydraulics. Good people skills and ability to work with different personalities. Ability to adapt to changing needs while maintaining a composed demeanor. Effective communication with engineers, scientists, managers, and administrative staff.
