Plant Manager

A leading building materials producer is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of a high-volume aggregate facility producing crushed stone, sand, and gravel. The role has full responsibility for all site operations. The successful candidate will lead a mixed hourly and salaried workforce while delivering performance across safety, production, quality, cost, and customer service. Key Responsibilities Lead all site activities in accordance with applicable safety, regulatory, and company requirements. Promote a strong safety culture through regular inspections, training, meetings, and visible leadership. Maintain compliance with environmental permits covering air, water, reclamation, and related requirements. Develop production and site plans to support current output and long-term resource availability. Optimize plant flow, throughput, product recovery, and equipment utilization. Partner with quality personnel to ensure products meet customer, industry, and transportation specifications. Investigate and resolve product quality issues and customer complaints. Manage operating budgets, production costs, inventory, stockpiles, and site performance metrics. Support capital planning and oversee equipment installations, upgrades, and improvement projects. Establish effective preventive maintenance programs for fixed and mobile equipment. Coordinate planned shutdowns and major repairs, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, leads, and hourly employees. Manage performance reviews, workforce planning, training, and employee relations. Maintain effective relationships with customers, contractors, regulators, neighboring landowners, and the local community. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience. Seven or more years of experience in aggregate production, mining, or heavy industrial operations. At least three years of supervisory or management experience preferred. Working knowledge of MSHA or comparable industrial safety regulations.
