Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required License: NM/Compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start) Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: CPI preferred, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Chest tubes, Colostomy/ileostomy management/care, CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) care, Feeding tube care and management, Heparin, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Insulin management, Isolation Precautions/PPE, Med/Surg care, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Oxygen administration, PCA, Peripheral Line care/management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Pre/Post Hemodialysis management, Renal failure care, Starting and maintaining IVs, Surgical drains, Wound care. Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in medical surgical - neuro. The nurse will work day shifts for 12 hours each. There will be a nurse to patient ratio of 1:6. The unit is composed of 32 beds. The candidate will be part of a rapid response team activation. The unit accepts first-time travelers. The nurse will use Epic charting. Floating to like units may be required based on facility needs. Weekend coverage includes six weekend shifts within a six-week period. Pre-approved time off must be listed at the time of submission. Orientation includes training on unit protocols. Travelers must complete lab work within 48 business hours after contract signing. Modules are completed onsite during orientation and recorded via transcripts. Candidates should have experience in managing patients with cerebrovascular accidents and other related conditions.
