Vice President Finance

wMoonshot is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as a strategic partner on the executive leadership team of a high-growth electrical distribution and infrastructure company. This is not a back-office accounting role—Moonshot has a strong Controller who owns GAAP, compliance, and day-to-day financial operations. This role demands a financial strategist: someone who operates at the leadership table, shapes how the company allocates capital, and influences the decisions that drive sustainable growth. You will set the financial vision, eliminate barriers to execution, and ensure the leadership team has the clarity and visibility required to act with confidence. You will own headcount and resource planning within your vertical, drive accountability through Scorecard Measurables, and build a finance function that operates as an independent, high-performing engine. This role reports directly to the Integrator/COO and operates as a core member of the executive leadership team . Ensure the organization has the financial frameworks, approvals, and resources needed to move decisively on company prioritie s.Headcount and Resource Planning : Own headcount planning and resource allocation within the finance function, ensuring the team is structured and staffed to support the company’s growth trajectory and operational demand s.Finance Function Ownership : Build and maintain a finance function that operates with independence and precision—delivering accurate, timely financial data that enables sound business decisions across the organizatio n.Financial Visibility and Accountability : Own finance-related Measurables on the company Scorecard and deliver consistent financial visibility to the leadership team, ensuring alignment between financial performance and strategic objective s.Capital Planning and Investment Analysis : Lead financial modeling for capital allocation, build-versus-buy analyses, and return-on-investment evaluations for major infrastructure investments and strategic venture s.Risk Management and Insurance : Own the company’s financial risk profile—including contractual risk, liability exposure, insurance programs, and risk mitigation strategies—across all business lines and operating entitie s.Pricing and Margin Strategy : Ensure pricing models across all business lines are anchored in validated cost data and margin targets, providing the analytical foundation for disciplined, profitable growt h.Cash Flow and Working Capital Management : Oversee the strategic management of receivables, payables, inventory financing, and working capital to ensure the company maintains the liquidity position required to fund operations and sustained growt h.Banking and Lender Relationships : Own and manage relationships with banking partners, lenders, and capital providers—including credit facilities, debt covenants, and financing structures that underpin the company’s growth trajector y.Business Intelligence and Data Strategy : Own the financial reporting infrastructure—dashboards, KPI frameworks, and analytical tools—that provide leadership with real-time visibility into business performance beyond the Scorecar d. Qualificati onsExperie nce10+ years in finance with progressive advancement from execution into strategic leadership (Director of Finance, VP Finance, CFO, or equivalen t).Experience leading a finance function in a growth-stage or mid-market company—building high-performing teams, setting financial strategy, and partnering with executive leadership on critical business decisio ns.Demonstrated ownership of headcount planning and resource allocation within a finance organization, combined with cross-functional partnership at the executive lev el.Manufacturing, electrical distribution, critical infrastructure, or industrial market experience is a plus but not requir ed.Ski llsFinancial acumen that extends well beyond technical accounting—ability to connect financial performance to operational outcomes and advise leadership with clarity and convicti on.Proven ability to build budgets, deliver accurate forecasts, and translate complex financial data into strategic guidance that directly influences how leadership allocates capital and manages ri sk.Proficiency with financial systems, reporting platforms, and analytical tools—with the judgment to know what to delegate and what to own personal ly.A natural enabler who develops talent, sets clear expectations, and creates the conditions for teams to perform at a high level. Comfortable leading through influence and holding people to exacting standar ds.EOS/Traction experience is a strong plus—including working knowledge of Scorecards, Measurables, Rocks, and L10 meetin gs.Education & Certificati onsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
