Pallet Repair Associate

Job Overview Ryder is immediately hiring permanent full-time Skilled Laborers and Construction Professionals to ensure excellent craftsmanship at our manufacturing facility in Ontario, California. Compensation Hourly Pay $18.00 per hour, moving to $20.00 per hour after training is completed. Additional pay: $0.60 piece rate in addition to hourly rate after daily quota is met. Employees may also be eligible for a shift premium. Schedule: Third/Weekend Shift Friday - Sunday 4:00 am - 2:30 pm and Monday 3:00 pm - 1:30 am. Benefits Paid Training and support to take your next step Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 K etc. Start at 30 days Paid Time Off 401 K offers a company match High‑valued stock at 15 % employee discount Employee discounts on tools, cars, hotels, electronics, cell phones, travel, and more Safety gear provided Focus on continuous improvement designed for success Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred 0 to 1 year in carpentry or construction background preferred Ability to comprehend basic math Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner Must be able to follow repair process Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch frequently Must be able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lb Capable of standing and walking for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8‑hour day) Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements Responsibilities Use a pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other powered/hand tools to repair or assemble pallets Place pallets on repair table, remove defective boards, replace with new boards, and secure boards into place Stand for long periods of time (8‑10 hours) and lift up to 75 lb throughout shift Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and safety standards Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards Use a hammer, grinder, and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together components Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table Ensure pallets meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets Perform other duties as required Additional Notes Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
