The Sr Engineer Software Automation is responsible for designing developing and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks and infrastructure for complex medical device systems. This role is a key technical contributor within the Instrument Test Engineering organization developing Python-based automation solutions that improve test efficiency reliability repeatability and coverage.

The position reports to the Sr Manager Instrument Software Test and is part of the Software Test Engineering department located in Irvine CA and will be an on-site role.

In This Role You Will Have The Opportunity To:

• Design develop and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and supporting infrastructure for instrument and system-level testing.
• Develop reusable test libraries device interfaces protocol libraries utilities and common automation components across instrument platforms.
• Build software simulators and emulators for hardware devices and external systems to enable isolated and reproducible testing.

• Mentor engineers contributing to the automation codebase and establish best practices for software architecture code quality maintainability and reuse.

• Participate in technical design and code reviews and provide technical leadership for test automation initiatives.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include:

• B.S. Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field with 5 years of experience in software engineering or test automation.
• Strong software development experience with Python including object-oriented programming debugging and development of reusable software components.

• Experience designing and maintaining automated test frameworks or substantial automation infrastructure.

• Experience testing complex systems involving software hardware embedded devices and communication interfaces.

• Experience with Git CI/CD systems and modern software development practices.

• Strong debugging problem-solving communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience with medical devices embedded systems or other regulated products.

• Experience interfacing with physical devices laboratory equipment or test instrumentation.

• Experience with communication technologies such as serial USB TCP/IP Bluetooth/BLE or similar protocols.

• Experience developing device simulators emulators mocks or hardware-in-the-loop test solutions.

• Experience with Python test frameworks such as pytest.

• Familiarity with medical device software development verification and design control processes.

The annual salary range for this role is $100000 - $ is the range that we in good faith believe is the range ofpossible compensationfor this role at the time of this posting. This range may bemodifiedin the future.

This job is also eligible for up to a 10% annual bonus.
