Quality Assurance Team Leader, Overnight, Deli - LakelandIn Quality Assurance (QA), Team Leaders serve as a critical resource to associates and managers within Publix manufacturing facilities by being on-the-floor work participants with associates and covering for vacations and unplanned absences. This includes performing tasks and assuming specific responsibilities of the Department Manager in his/her absence, and planning and conducting job skill training for all associates. Team Leaders report to the Quality Assurance Department Manager. Additional responsibilities include:HACCP Plan development, monitoring and data verification for all products and processesmaintain Food Safety and Quality Programs including SQF, allergens, SSOPs and other prerequisite programsinteraction with regulatory and external auditors (Florida Department of Agriculture, FDA, USDA and 3rd party auditors) which can include accompanying the auditor and corrective action plan follow upinteraction with plant management which includes assisting departments in researching quality-related issuesact as QA department point of contact in the absence of the QA managermonitor and verify QA department responsibilitieseffectively communicate food safety and quality programs using job instruction training techniques to QA as well as other department associates as neededperform tasks in the work area (when necessary) which include:being an on the work floor participant with production associates (when necessary)cover for unplanned absencesschedule associate labor needspromote and enforce associate quality and food safety standardsverify the maintenance of equipment, preventive maintenance and work ordersunderstand production and ability to execute department requirementsmaintain Good Manufacturing Practices within the facilitybe a role model for plant associatestrack customer complaints, investigation and correspondencelead and drive improvement of plant operations through continuous improvement projectsstudy and analyze KPI's and data and apply to departmental improvementplan and respond to out of the ordinary eventsother duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:high school diploma or its equivalentmust be at least 18 years oldability to lift in excess of 50 pounds, extended walking/standing (up to 14 hours a day), bending, squatting, and climbing laddersknowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)ability to demonstrate safe working habitsability to learn and perform all positionsability to work in a fast-paced environmentunderstanding of highly complex industrial/manufacturing equipmentability to work well with others and be a team playerability to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hourswillingness to assist other team members in other areasability to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of timeability to work efficiently with little or no supervisionpossess basic math skillsexcellent written and verbal communication skillsobvious enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work anda commitment to Publix and our mission.Preferred Qualifications:Some college coursework in Business, Engineering, and/or Food Scienceknowledge of laboratory (chemical and microbiological) and ability to be a resource to all departmentsknowledge of food safety and regulatory compliance and ability to provide assistance to all departmentsknowledge of HACCP and SSOP Programs and ability to train all associates in this areadepartment experience related to the position andknowledge of general Publix and Manufacturing policies and procedures.Hours of Work: 10:00pm - 6:30am; rotating daysWork Environment: Temperatures range from 35 to 90+ degreesFrequency of Pay: WeeklyMinimum Base Pay: $25.00Maximum Base Pay: $34.50Potential Annual Base Pay: $52,000 - $71,760Year End Bonus: To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.Other Compensation Information: Night Differential: A $.75 per hour night differential is paid to associates regularly scheduled to work any hours between midnight and 3:00 a.m. (this does not include shifts that end at midnight or begin at 3:00 a.m.).
