Industrial Maintenance Technician (Night Shift) in Humble

Industrial Maintenance Technician – Night Shift (8pm - 4am) This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining all manufacturing equipment within the production areas and ensuring safety and quality through understanding related Quality Management Systems (SQF, HACCP, GMP). Key Responsibilities Assist in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of high voltage (480 volts) equipment. Identify and repair electrical systems and mechanical defects across production equipment and facility infrastructure. Participate as a Maintenance Lead for assigned area teams to support line‑centric teams. Effectively complete assigned Preventative Maintenance Plans as scheduled to eliminate unplanned downtime. Participate in root cause analysis on equipment and process failures to provide insight into failures and suggest corrective actions. Work well in a team environment and understand the team is stronger as a unified group versus a team of individuals. Train operators on maintenance techniques when called to troubleshoot or repair equipment. Complete preventative maintenance and other reliability tasks, assist in diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds of machines, partner with engineering or others on non‑routine repairs and defect handling solutions. Understand the management of Quality Systems and be familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices which help ensure safety within the workplace and the production of a safe and quality product. Perform other duties as required by supervisor and reporting structure. Document all maintenance work activity within the CMMS system. Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime. Possess strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Qualifications and Education Requirements Operate in the workplace safely and effectively, adhering to mechanical, fluid, power, electrical power, and environmental rules and regulations for welding. Ability to follow processes to disassemble and reassemble equipment before and after cleaning and then properly test for safe and correct operation. Skill in installing, aligning, and adjusting mechanical power transmission components such as gearboxes, bearings, chains, shafts, and gears. Ability to troubleshoot and repair power transmission, gear alignment, and carry out preventative maintenance to extend machine life and prevent unplanned downtime. Proficiency in using measurement tools and calibrating them, including dial calipers, vernier micrometers, and ability to select the right tool based on required accuracy. Includes measuring run‑out (TIR) and flatness. Ability to use hoists and other tools to safely rig and move parts and equipment. Ability to determine and apply appropriate oils and lubricants as specified by machine manufacturer and to lubricate equipment with proper tools, including disposal of used lubricants and oils. Have own tools (required tool list will be provided and must be on site within two weeks of hire). Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test overall pneumatic systems, including use of vacuum generators given schematic. Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and install electronic and process control systems, including understanding of electrical diagrams and schematics. Proficient in measuring voltage, current, continuity, amperage, resistance, and calculating power in a circuit using a multimeter. Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test AC/DC/servo motors in manual and automated control circuits. Perform basic welding, including proper selection of PPE and preparation of welding process. Record all maintenance work within CMMS system and follow all CMMS processes and procedures. Utilize CMMS records and OEM drawings to identify improvements for maintainability and proper spare part selection. Flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime and weekends if necessary. Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills. Required 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience with a strong electrical focus, or completion of a two‑year technical degree with relevant hands‑on experience. Read, write, and speak English. Successfully complete HACCP certification. Proven experience with NPN/PNP sensors and VFDs in complex automation and control systems. Must have a forklift license or be able to complete required training within 90 days of hire. Preferred Bilingual (English & Spanish). Good verbal, written, and mathematical skills, and ability to deal tactfully and courteously interdepartmentally as well as with co‑workers and vendors. Working knowledge of ovens, bakery equipment, and packaging equipment. AIB Bakery Equipment training course helpful.
