Step into a dynamic school environment as a licensed practical nurse for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract position is based near Lakewood, WA, and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing dedicated, one-on-one care to a medically fragile student.

Your expertise will be key in ensuring the student’s safety and comfort throughout the school day and during transportation to and from campus. The role requires someone who is confident in managing feeding tubes and comfortable with close, individualized care. As the student’s primary nurse, you’ll build trust and provide essential support, making a tangible difference in their daily school experience.

Qualifications:

• Current Washington State LPN license, or willingness to obtain one prior to the start date
• Able and willing to complete fingerprinting through OSPI for school clearance
• Experience or strong comfort level with feeding tubes
• Previous experience in a school setting, or working with children with complex needs, is highly valued
• Commitment to working onsite for all scheduled hours
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-on-one nursing care for a medically fragile student throughout the school day
• Administer tube feedings and monitor student health status
• Ride the bus with the student to and from school each day
• Document care provided and communicate important updates to teachers, staff, and parents as needed
• Serve as a compassionate advocate, ensuring the student’s educational and medical needs are always met
