Response To Intervention (RtI) Tutor

Walker Elementary School, Grades K-5 Requirements: Child centered Ability to provide assistance with reading, math, and writing Requirements: PEL, SUB or PARA license, PEL preferred Approximately 20-25 hours per week. Exact hours and days to be determined by school. Salary: $21.37 per hour (Current contract under negotiation; minimum salary of $21.37/hour) Position is part time, no benefits Possibility of extra pay for lunch/recess supervision Position is part of the Hinsdale Educational Support Staff Association

Qualifications

• Some college hours (degree preferred)
• Education background preferred
• Child centered, able to work with young children
• Proficient with technology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Organized and flexible

Reports to: Building Principal, PPS Assistant Principal or Administrative Specialist

Job Goal: RtI tutors will provide targeted academic and/or behavioral support to students under the direction of certified instructional staff.

Performance Responsibilities

• Participate in training as directed.
• Work with students in grades K-5 to provide academic and behavioral interventions.
• Work within a variety of instructional settings.
• Administer assessments and progress monitor as directed.
• Confer regularly with certified instructional staff about student progress.
• Perform clerical duties and data entry associated with the RtI program.
• Adjust or modify lessons in response to student needs.
• Help as directed with computer-assisted instruction.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Promote a positive and safe learning environment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, stand, sit, read, and walk. The employee may be required to climb stairs and stoop.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job the employee will be working in an indoor school environment, classroom and small office. The noise level is usually quiet to moderately loud.

Terms of Employment

Part time position. Hours and days worked vary according to building needs.

Performance to be evaluated annually by the principal in accordance with district policy.
