Position Summary Supports the timely delivery of mechanical engineering work packages within cost and quality requirements for assigned project(s). Conducts prototype testing to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and collects and analyzes data for improvements. Reports to a manager and occasionally directs several aspects of the work. Job Description / Responsibilities Identify appropriate materials and processes to ensure quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Create, interpret, review and maintain engineering documentation (prints, specifications, etc.). Evaluate design and manufacturing processes through analysis and test. Perform root cause and corrective action analysis on returned hardware. Support supplier quality and manufacturing with DfM and troubleshooting. Foster technical collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines and business functions. Write reports and present technical content at peer and design reviews. Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. 4+ years of relevant experience (or 3+ years with a recognized apprenticeship). Knowledge of manufacturing techniques including injection moulding, die casting, machining, welding, etc. Understanding of drafting principles and standards, including GD&T. Experience with manufacturing documentation such as PFMEA and work instructions. Strong technical writing and communication skills; ability to produce engineering reports and deliverables. Proficiency with basic test and metrology equipment for engineering assessments. Experience in design, manufacture, and assembly of products. Proficiency in 3D modelling software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, etc.). Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizens only). Willingness to travel up to 10% for test, supplier, and customer meetings. Additional Requirements Required: Nationality: U.S. citizen (to obtain a security clearance).
