Description:
CNA provides care to residents to ensure their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) are met as outlined in the plan of care.
Care includes assistance with hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, and skin care.
Documentation of care must be completed per protocol.
Maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents is critical.
This includes responding to call lights and alarms promptly.
Safety measures include provision of safety mats and low beds.
Restraint use is under the direction of nursing staff.
Maintaining cleanliness of the unit and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment is essential.
Residents' nutritional needs must be met according to their preferences and choices, including meal delivery and use of adaptive equipment.
Documentation of dietary care must also be completed per protocol.
CNA will assist with rehabilitative needs as specified in the plan of care.
This includes range of motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, and use of assistive devices.
Any changes in a resident's physical, emotional, or psychosocial status must be reported to the Charge Nurse promptly.
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated.
Required tasks may involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
