Job Profile Summary

The Regional Director (“RD”) serves as the operational and growth leader for the School Directors at the assigned schools contracting with Tutelage School Solutions (“Tutelage”). The RD is accountable to and receives direction from Tutelage’s Executive Director. In addition, the RD works collaboratively with the Board at the assigned schools contracting with Tutelage. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by building and supporting great schools.  

This position has an August 2026 start date, and candidates in the greater Charlotte, NC area are preferred. 

Responsibilities

School Director Leadership & School Development 

• In collaboration with Tutelage leadership, recruit, evaluate, and recommend School Director(s) for Board approval, ensuring alignment with the schools’ mission, values, and educational philosophy.
• Provide ongoing performance feedback through regular meetings, written evaluations, and constructive improvement suggestions.
• Recommend performance-related actions as needed.
• Ensure familiarity in instructional programs used across the network.
• Develop an understanding of school academic standards and state assessment requirements. 
• Develop, in partnership with the School Director(s), clear annual academic goals for each school.
• Hold quarterly academic meetings, monthly enrollment meetings, and routine finance meetings to assess progress toward goals and ensure continuous improvement.
• Foster year-over-year enrollment growth through targeted outreach and strategic planning.

Board Relations

• Attend all regularly scheduled Board meetings, providing EMO updates and relevant information.
• Maintain strong relationships with Board members through regular check-ins to ensure trust and alignment.
• Offer constructive input and recommendations to the Board and Tutelage leadership.

Public Relations and Marketing

• Build relationships with community leaders, SCDE, PCSASC, and the Charter Institute at Erskine.
• Identify and leverage opportunities to strengthen the Tutelage brand and promote partner schools.
• Manage and update assigned school social media pages to post content relevant to current initiatives.
• In coordination with the TSS leadership team, lead and support the School Director(s) in developing and executing marketing and enrollment strategies to achieve charter and budget targets.
• Partner with the Tutelage marketing team to create student enrollment campaigns and effective social media strategies.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Experience

• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience working in a reputable agency with demonstrated client support expertise, community and/or government relations, education, marketing, or other related fields.
• Proven success in project coordinating and management and effectively interacting with school officials, management and/or business executives.
• Experience with managing multiple priorities, driving outcomes and board relations.

Experience in lieu of education

Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary is negotiable, based on experience and other qualifications. In addition to the base salary, the employee will qualify for both an objective and subjective bonus. After three months of employment, a 401K program provided by Human Interest is available to the employee with a 5% match. Also, we offer a QSEHRA (qualified small employer health reimbursement arrangement). This is a tax-free monthly reimbursement of up to $529.16 if you are on your spouse's health insurance or you could use these funds as a stipend to shop in the open marketplace for your own healthcare plan. Lastly, we provide an unlimited PTO policy at Tutelage.
