This is an opportunity to bring your field expertise to a supportive environment and presents an opportunity for growth into a Lead Direct Support Professional.Position SummaryAs an Interim Lead Direct Service Professional (DSP), you’ll be an active part of our residential crisis programs supporting adults. Your responsibilities include:Provide care and supervision to residents, ensuring safety and well-being at all timesCommunicate effectively with residents to support understanding and informed decision-makingAssist with prescribed medications when applicable and under proper authorizationComplete Medication Assistance Records (MARs) accurately and on timeSupport health and emergency procedures, including fire safety responseIdentify, document, and report special incidents and suspected abuse as required by lawEnsure compliance with residents’ IPPs and protect resident rightsAssist residents with daily living activities including hygiene, mobility, meals, and community accessAttend medical appointments and report outcomes to supervisorsParticipate in crisis intervention using CPI and Ukeru principlesEnsure residents are always supervised by responsible staffMaintain accurate and timely documentation (case notes, incident reports, logs, timesheets)Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environmentFollow all agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsParticipate in staff meetings, trainings, and required continuing educationCommunicate relevant updates regarding residents’ progress, needs, and goalsSupport development and implementation of behavior plans and assessmentsRespond to emails, texts, and other communications in a timely mannerReport safety concerns, injuries, or hazards immediatelyRequest necessary supplies and equipment as neededMaintain professionalism, punctuality, and consistent attendanceQualificationsRequiredMinimum of 6 months experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in an ABA environment and displaying severe verbal and physical behaviorsMinimum of 3 months experience serving in a supervisory/managerial position with direct reports.Availability to work every weekendWillingness to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 90-days of hirePhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as neededAbility to perform physical aspects of residential care and crisis responsePre-Employment RequirementsValid and current auto insuranceCA Driver's LicenseHigh School DiplomaSuccessful criminal background checkReference verificationEducation verificationImmunization recordsNegative TB testCompensation:$23 - $26.50/hourIncentive pay factored into hourly rate for premium shifts on scheduleQuarterly bonus for overtime shiftsPaid training (RBT, DSP I/II, CPI, Ukeru)RBT Test ReimbursementEmployer-subsidized medical, dental & vision coverage401(k) with employer contributionPTO accrualSeparate paid sick timePaid holidaysAnnual performance-based compensation growth potentialLoyalty bonus every 5 yearsLife & AD&D coverage at no cost to youComprehensive EAP—100% employer-fundedTax-advantaged healthcare & dependent care FSAsOngoing professional development (CEUs)Why Advance Kids?At Advance Kids, you'll join a team of passionate professionals dedicated to helping individuals with developmental disabilities achieve greater independence, safety, and quality of life.
